Lakshmi Rai to play as Veerappan’s wife

Director AMR Ramesh is making a bio-pic on the life and times of the notorious forest brigand Veerappan which is titled Vana Yudhdham. Kishore plays the role of the smuggler and dacoit, while Lakshmi Rai has been signed up to play the role of his wife. The director says that the film would be realistic based on facts and it is not a commercial cinema either eulogising or degrading the character of Veerappan. However, the film will touch certain controversial issues connected with Veerappan including the reasons for him to confine himself to the forest and the final encounter when he was killed by the Special Task Force.
